Brat Fry Friday! Now Delivering!

Well, I'm happy to say at least Adams-Friendship Brat Fry's are in full swing.  I never knew that brat fry's would do deliveries.  I think that alone should allow them to make a 'mistake or two' on the orders.  Needless to say, a large group here are placing a large order.

Brats For Breakfast!

A few Saturdays ago...at 9:50am
Hoff's in Brownsville (about 45 min northwest of Milwaukee, off 41)

Lucky for us, they're ready before 10am. According to their website, Hoff's sponsors a weekly Brat Festival every Friday: 8:00 am - 5:30 pm and Saturday: 8:00 am - 3:00 pm, from April 1st - October 31st. The proceeds are donated to local civic and religious organizations.

These might be the best brats I've ever had. Seriously...I'm not a huge fan of brats. There's something about that brat flavor/seasoning, the same goes for hot dogs (Nathan's are my fav). Hoff's brats don't have that brat-y taste. This one was an original, but we've also had their bacon cheese brats, steaks, hot dogs, canadian bacon, and its all A-mazing.

The brat lady said we must not be from around there because I asked so many questions about the toppings. They had everything - kraut, onions, mustard, ketchup. Brat lady recommended mustard and kraut. I discovered I'm not a kraut kind of gal.

Next time, I want to try these De-lish-us chips

The Inaugural Brat Fry

Our first fry was after church on Sunday in Fox Lake the last weekend in May (We will try to be a bit more prompt in the future).  They were raising money to send kids on some mission.   This was at Annunciation Church and they have Mass at both 8 and 10.  An interesting thing about brats, is that there is never a bad time for one.  The folks raising money for the Mission Trip knew this and took advantage of 9am brats (after the 8am Mass).  My family attended at 10 and I couldn't pass up an opportunity to have our family share some delicious bratwursts together.  So we had our brats at 11 and they were just about as you'd expect.  Delicious.   Overall, the atmosphere was pleasant, after all - it was church.  They grilled on site right outside the main doors and I would have thought they used a vent right from the grill and pumped the air right into the church.  They kept things warm in the Nesco, but condiments were a little lacking and the buns tasted a wee bit on the stale side.  No complaints for $2 brats.  A great start to our first fry.

The Big Idea

It began with an idea, driving from Milwaukee to Fox Lake for Memorial Day weekend. The Pro Build store was having a Customer Appreciation Brat Fry, Hoff's Meat Market was having what seems to be a daily Brat Fry, signs were in every town for what else...a BRAT FRY! So we had this great idea to blog about all the different Brat Frys we see and attend. Are they grilling on-site? Keeping brats warm in the ol' Nesco? What kind of condiments do they offer? Who's hosting and for what cause?

Leave us a comment about popular Brat Frys in your community...we know they are everywhere...and feel free to send us a picture with comments at our email wifryblog@gmail.com and we can update with Brat Frys from everywhere!
